    Six Days Zurich 2012
    Hallenstadion Zurich, Switzerland

    Sixday-Nights Zurich 2012 Hallenstadion

Riders from 10 nations will take part in the Sixday-Nights in Zurich Hallenstadion from the 28th November to the 1st December 2012.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

UIV 2012 Sixday-Nights in Zurich - Day Four

1st December 2012: Theo, the mascot of the Sixday-Nights in Zurich, found it difficult to present the great smile at the ceremony after the final Saturday night. He’s heroes, and also the heroes of the crowd in Hallenstadion, didn’t get the winners they had hoped for. After three days splendid racing, where to two Swiss specialists Franco Marvulli and Tristan Marguet had been giving their best – and perhaps even a little bit more than that – had to realize, that in the end, two teams were stronger than them. After a 50 Km Madison-final on high level the reigning World Champion from Belgium, Kenny de Ketele and his partner, ex-World Champion in Pointrace, Peter Schep from Holland, won the Sixday-Nights on points ahead of Germans Hondo – Kluge. Marvulli – Marguet ended one lap down, together with Dillier – O’Shea.

    Sixday-Nights Zurich 2012 Hallenstadion

The gap between the pro’s and the Talents is still remarkable. Young Samuel Horstmann, brilliant second in the UIV Talents Cup in Ghent just a week ago, ended in his first pro race in 12th place overall, 25 laps behind the winners. But don’t loos the spirit, my boy, others have had the same experience before you, and have in the end come out as better riders.

The organizers were satisfied with the event, and the next Sixday-Nights, the third under the new concept, will take place from 27th to 30th November 2013 in the famous Hallenstadion. Thank you, Zurich, we look forward to that!

    Sixday-Nights Zurich 2012 Hallenstadion

As expected, the Swiss team Stefan Küng – Théry Schir became the unbeatable winners of the UIV Talent Cup in Zurich, leading the race from the very first day. In the end they were one lap ahead of their closest opponents, Dutch team Didier – Van Zijl, and also with far the highest amount of points. Third place went to Suter – Van Immerseel with the winners from Ghent, Kraus – Rugovac fourth, both two laps behind. The UIV Talents Cup will continue in Rotterdam in the start of January.

UIV 2012 Sixday-Nights in Zurich - Day Three

30th November 2012: The “darlings” of the crowds in Zurich, Franco Marvulli and Tristan Marguet, are in the best position before to night’s final of the Sixday-Nights in Zurich. Both are speedy riders and that has during the three previous days given them a solid lead on points, nearly 100 points more than second team overall, the Germans Hondo – Kluge, even as this team should in no way be underestimated.

The third Swiss top-rider Silvan Dillier and his Australian partner Glenn O’Shea is before the finale one lap down, but they might be able to reach one more bonus-lap before the start of the final Madison, and then they will again be part of the game.
