The long awaited European Track Cycling Championships is finally here, taking place from November the 5th to 7th at Pruszkow’s BGZ Arena in Poland.

Introduced as a result of the new Olympic qualification guidelines the UCI has imposed on the sport, the European Championships have previously only been open to U23/Junior riders and unlike the World’s other continents/cycling regions such as Oceania, Asia and Pan-America, senior riders across Europe have not been able to fight it out for the chance to become European Champion.

Europe has a limited number of spaces in the Olympics for all events. In the Team Sprint for both Men and Women, European countries can only qualify five places, so only the top five countries in Europe will be represented in the Team Sprint. Each of these countries will then automatically qualify an individual spot in the Keirin and Sprint so nations that are strong in the Team Sprint such as World Champions Germany, France, Great Britain will automatically have a place in the Sprint and Keirin as well as the Team Sprint in 2012.

This will mean that the strongest riders from each country, for example Gregory Bauge for France and Sir Chris Hoy for Great Britain will automatically secure a ride in the Sprint and Keirin. Riders such as Greece’s Christos Volikakis and Denis Spicka of the Czech Republic who may not have a strong Team Sprint team but are strong in the individual events can qualify on their own performances in each event so could take up one of the four individual spots each for Europe.

Despite the controversy surrounding the new one rider one nation one event strategy adopted by the UCI, the European Championships is set to become a legendary annual event on the Track Cycling calendar that kick starts the professional season in Europe.

St. Andrews, Scotland – July 2025 — In a moment that will go down in golfing history, Scotland’s own Callum Fraser claimed a dramatic victory at the British Open, delivering a fairytale finish on the legendary Old Course at St. Andrews. His win marks the first time in over two decades that a Scottish golfer has lifted the Claret Jug on home soil.

A Historic Comeback

Fraser, 29, entered the final day trailing by three strokes but produced a stunning final round of 66, including an eagle on the par-5 14th and a nerveless birdie on the iconic 18th. The roar from the crowd echoed across the course as he sank the final putt, finishing at 12-under-par, one stroke ahead of American favorite Rickie Caldwell.

“This is what dreams are made of,” Fraser said, choking back emotion. “To win here, in front of my family, my friends, and the Scottish fans — it’s something I’ll carry with me forever.”

National Pride on Full Display

The gallery, packed with Scottish flags and roaring fans, celebrated Fraser’s win as a national triumph. The victory rekindled memories of golf legends like Sandy Lyle and Colin Montgomerie, and for many, it symbolized a new chapter for Scottish golf on the global stage.

Scotland, widely regarded as the birthplace of golf, had long awaited a local champion to reclaim the Open title — especially at the revered St. Andrews course, often seen as the spiritual home of the britishopengolf.

Rising Star with Global Promise

Fraser, relatively unknown internationally before the tournament, has now become a household name. With a composed demeanor and pinpoint accuracy throughout the week, his performance earned praise from top players and commentators alike.

“He played like a veteran,” said golf legend Rory McIlroy. “That kind of composure under pressure — especially here — is incredible.”

What’s Next?

With his Open victory, Fraser not only earns a major title but also secures invitations to the Masters, the PGA Championship, and the U.S. Open. Sponsors and media attention are already lining up, but the modest Scotsman remains focused.

“I just want to keep getting better and make Scotland proud,” he told reporters. “This is only the beginning.”

Reunion with EXO Members Still Not Happening After Match

Seoul, South Korea – June 2023 — Despite ongoing anticipation among fans, a reunion between former and current EXO members has still not materialized following recent public events, including last week’s charity soccer match in Seoul. Hopes were high that the appearance of several idols in the same venue could spark a long-awaited public interaction, but sources close to the artists confirmed that no meeting took place.

Fans Eager, But the Distance Remains

Since EXO’s debut in 2012, the group has seen multiple lineup changes due to contract expirations, solo activities, and military enlistments. Although the group’s legacy continues to resonate globally, the emotional gap between current and former members appears to linger.

During the charity match, EXO’s Suho and Baekhyun were seen interacting warmly with other celebrities, while former member Tao was spotted in the stands, quietly supporting the event. Rumors spread quickly online that a backstage reunion might be on the horizon — but it seems that opportunity was missed.

“There were no scheduled private meetings or group plans after the match,” said an insider from the event’s organizing team. “While the atmosphere was friendly, all artists followed their own schedules.”

A Complicated History

The idea of a reunion has remained a sensitive topic within fandom circles. With former members such as Kris, Luhan, and Tao pursuing successful careers in China, and Lay recently stepping away from SM Entertainment, aligning all members — even for a casual meeting — has proved challenging.

Legal tensions and unresolved emotional dynamics have long stood in the way of reconciliation. However, fans continue to hold out hope, especially as EXO celebrates its milestones and legacy.

“Maybe Someday”

Many fans took to social media expressing both disappointment and continued hope. Hashtags like #EXOReunionWhen and #StillOneEXO trended briefly on Twitter following the match.

“Even if they didn’t meet this time, we believe the bond is still there,” said one fan from Indonesia. “EXO is a family, no matter the distance.”

While the reunion didn’t happen this time, insiders hint that private lines of communication are not entirely cut off. Whether a full public reunion ever takes place remains to be seen — but for now, the wait continues.

Several long-time fans continue to follow the careers of EXO members who left, hoping for even brief moments of interaction that might signal a future reunion. Meanwhile, recent headlines about EXO Kris news have sparked renewed conversations about the possibility of reconciliation between the original lineup.
